NABUCCO HIGHLIGHTS AND VERDI OPERA GALA WITH DOMINGO
In Brief
Gala concert in two parts, in Italian, with Hungarian, English, and Italian subtitles
Plácido Domingo is undoubtedly the longest-standing world star in the opera world. He has visited Hungary on several occasions: he performed in Tosca and Aida at the Erkel Theatre (1973, 1987), sang at the People’s Stadium (1996) as a tenor, appeared in an opera house gala evening and an Arena concert as a baritone (2016), even performed in the deeper register in a Traviata performance in Pécs (2017), and also appeared in a stadium concert in Szeged (2019). He conducted his own singing competition’s finals at the Ybl palace (2009) and also at the reopening of the Opera House, followed a month later by three performances in the title role of Simon Boccanegra at the Opera House (2022). He had his own programme at the MVM Dome (2023) and now, once again for the OPERA audience, will give a concert of the best of Nabucco and of Verdi's œuvre.
