Barnos Barna was born on 26 January 1996 in Sfântu Gheorghe, Romania. He began his musical studies as a cellist at the Plugor Sándor Art High School in his hometown, and from 2011 continued his studies as a vocal student under the guidance of Enikő Sebestyén-Lázár. During his secondary school years, he received awards at several national and international singing competitions.

In 2016, he was admitted to the classical voice program of the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music, where he obtained his BA degree in Classical Singing Performance in 2019, followed by an MA degree in Opera Singing in 2021. During his university studies, his teachers included András Almási-Tóth, Dr. habil. Katalin Halmai, Dr. Imola Pogány and Dr. Gábor Alszászy. Since 2022, he has been a private student of the Kossuth Prize-winning opera singer Ildikó Komlósi.

His operatic career began already during his university years. In 2020, he made his debut at the Hungarian State Opera as the Second Nazarene in Richard Strauss’s Salome. Since then, he has appeared in numerous productions at the Opera House, including Richard Wagner’s Parsifal, Benjamin Britten’s A Midsummer Night's Dream, Giacomo Puccini’s Gianni Schicchi, as well as Giuseppe Verdi’s Rigoletto, Otello, Nabucco and Macbeth.

In 2022, he debuted as Rinuccio in Puccini’s Gianni Schicchi, followed in 2023 by his debut as the Duke of Mantua in Verdi’s Rigoletto, directed by Miklós Szinetár. In 2025, he appeared at the Budapest Wagner Days in performances of Tannhäuser and Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg.

Alongside his operatic roles, his repertoire also includes major concert works. He has performed the tenor solo in Verdi’s Messa da Requiem, Kodály’s Budavári Te Deum and Psalmus Hungaricus, as well as the tenor solo in Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony.

Throughout his career, he has collaborated with renowned conductors and directors including Miklós Szinetár, Calixto Bieito, Stefano Poda, Michael Güttler, Michael Boder, Gergely Kesselyák, Ádám Medveczky, János Kovács and István Dénes.

In 2021, he was awarded the Fischer Annie Performing Arts Scholarship
