Jovita Vaškevičiūtė studied at J. Naujalis Musik Gymnasium (choir conducting) and gradutated at Lithuanian Music Academy (voice, Master degree). In 2002 she was awarded at Z. Paulauskas’ Young Singers Competition, 2nd prize. She participated at the Lithuanian National Opera and Ballet Theatre Opera Studio, where she became soloist singer and 2006 was awarded as the Most Promising Singer by the Lithuanian National Opera and Ballet Theatre. The same year she started to perform at Estonia's Vanemuine Theatre as guest soloist. At the Lithuanian National Opera she has performed the parts of Carmen, Amneris, Ulrica, Maddalena, Suzuki, Dalila and Azucena among others. Guest engagements brought her to the Opera Cologne and Latvian National Opera among others. In 2013 she debuted as Amneris (Aida) at Macao Festival with Latvian National Opera and in 2014 as Pasqualita (John Adams: Doctor Atomic) at Opera National du Rhin-Strassbourg. Recent projects include her debut in “Sakura Memories” by Atsuhiko Gondai. In 2015 she performed the same part at Teatro de la Maestranza in Seville. At the Lithuanian National Opera she performed Eboli and Larina as well. In the 2016-2017 season she has sung the roles of Azucena, Suzuki, Olga, Carmen and Prince Orlowsky at Lithuanian National Opera among others.
