Lajos Csákovics graduated from the Hungarian University of Applied Arts with a degree in animation design (2001) and a teaching qualification in drawing and environmental culture (2003). He first took up opera translation as a hobby in 1988. Since 2010 he has edited the "Én és az operák” ("Me and the operas”) blog, where he publishes the archive of rare texts that comprises his own translations and his collection of librettos. Over the course of his operatic work, he has worked with such creative artists as Tamás Pál, György Selmeczi, Balázs Kovalik, Attila Toronykőy and András Almási-Tóth.
