On 12 October, opera lovers and novices may visit the new platform offered by Opera Europa, the European association of opera companies and festivals. Opera Europa and 30 opera companies from 18 countries join forces to build on the success of The Opera Platform and bring you OPERAVISION, thanks to the renewed support of the European Union’s Creative Europe programme.
The first new title will be Debussy’s Pelléas et Mélisande, streamed live from its premiere at Komische Oper Berlin on Sunday 15 October.
On the www.operavision.eu site some recent performances are already available such as La Sonnanbula by Bellini from the Victorian Opera, Acis & Galatea by Händel from the Opera Theatre Company Dublin, or Puccini's Madama Butterfly in a production by the Teatre Real Madrid.
The new Hänsel und Gretel production of the Hungarian State Opera can be seen on the OperaVision website from 22 December 2017.
