Audiences can celebrate Erika Miklósa at the Erkel Theatre on 21 January, 2016. For her 25th anniversary on stage, one of the most popular Hungarian opera singers has invited international friends and colleagues to Budapest. Beside Daniela Pini and Leonardo Ferrando, Gergely Boncsér, Attila Dolhai and István Horváth join her on stage. The concert features coloratura arias as well as excerpts from musicals and operettas.
Erika Miklósa made her debut at the Hungarian State Opera in 1990. Two years later, she made her international debut in Brussels. In the same year she got the role of The Queen of the Night in Mozart's Die Zauberflöte in Mannheim, which launched her international career. In this iconic role she appeared on stages from London to Paris, from Munich to New York. With her special vocal talents she has conquered the world. She has sung The Queen of the Night 500 times, which makes her the most sought-after soprano in this role.
Since 2004, she is a returning guest at the New York Metropolitan. However, she frequently sings at the Budapest Opera House and the Erkel Theatre. At the beginning of this season she originated the role of Maria in West Side Story, she plays Mária Gara in Ferenc Erkel's Hunyadi László in March, and in the summer premiere of La Traviata, she is going to sing Violetta Valéry on 24 and 26 June.
The 25th anniversary concert features Quartett Escualo, László Szlama (cither), the Hungarian State Opera Orchestra and Chorus. The concert is conducted by István Silló.
