The next concert in the series of the Budapest Philharmonic Orchestra is conducted by Alexander Lazarev on Monday, 30 November, 2015 at 7.30 p.m at the Opera House. The programme includes Piano Concerto 1 in d minor by Brahms (featuring pianist Sofya Gulyak) and Elgar's Symnphony No. 1.
The Russian conductor Alexander Lazarev is the former artistic director of the Bolshoi in Moscow, who has also been principal guest conductor to the BBC Symphonic Orchestra as well as principal conductor of the Japanese Symphonic Orchestra. The concert includes Piano Concert 1 in d minor by Brahms featuring pianist Sofya Gulyak, winner of several major international piano competitions. In the second part of the evening the orchestra with a history of over one and a half centuries performs Elgar's Symphony No. 1.
