Sinead Campbell Wallace is fast becoming one of the most exciting dramatic sopranos on the operatic stage. She was nominated for an Olivier Award for her portrayal of Puccini’s Tosca at English National Opera. She made her Salzburg Festival debut in 2020 as the Vierte Magd in Strauss’s Elektra, under the baton of Franz Welser-Möst. Other recent highlights include Senta in Wagner’s Der Fliegender Holländer at the Hyogo Performing Arts Centre, Japan, Gutrune in a concert performance of Wagner’s Götterdämmerung with conductor Vladimir Jurowski, Elsa in Wagner’s Lohengrin Opera de Paris and at the Savonlinna Opera Festival, Leonore at Washington National Opera and with Jonas Kaufmann at Grafenegg Festival, a critically acclaimed debut as Strauss’ Salome for Irish National Opera. She has also appeared in new productions as Tosca in Puccini’s Tosca(Wiesbaden Maifestspiele) and Ellen Orford in Britten’s Peter Grimes (Lyon). In the 2025/26 season, she performed the role of Senta in Wagner’s Der fliegende Holländer with the Bavarian State Opera during guest performances in Shanghai. At the Semperoper Dresden, she appeared as Madame Lidoine in Poulenc’s Dialogues des Carmélites, and will appear as Senta at the Tiroler Festspiele Erl, conducted by Asher Fisch. Sinéad is a graduate of the TUI Conservatory of Music, the National Opera Studio, and the Britten-Pears Young Artist Programme.
