Botond Pál, tenor has been a member of the Éva Marton International Opera Studio since 2024. He began his vocal studies with Margit Kapossy and in 2023 graduated from the University of Pécs with a degree in classical singing under the tutelage of István Kovácsházi. He made his debut at the Hungarian State Opera in April 2024 in Mussorgsky’s Boris Godunov, performing both the roles of Grigory and the Holy Fool.

His operatic repertoire includes Don Ottavio, Ferrando, Don Basilio and Don Curzio, Alfred (Die Fledermaus), the Lamplighter and Edmond (Manon Lescaut). He has also sung Spoletta in Puccini’s Tosca in José Cura’s staging. In the 2024/25 season of the Hungarian State Opera, he appeared as Pong in Puccini’s Turandot alongside the world-renowned tenor Yusif Eyvazov.

He participated in the world premiere of Péter Eötvös’s Valuska at the Eiffel Art Studios, a production later awarded the International Opera Awards for Best World Premiere. In 2023 he sang the tenor solo in János Vajda’s Töredék – A teljesség felé at the Kodály Centre in Pécs, and also performed László Dubrovay’s song cycle Szerelem, szerelem at the Pesti Vigadó, a concert broadcast live by Bartók Radio.

His oratorio repertoire includes Hector Berlioz’s Lélio, ou le retour à la vie, Gioachino Rossini’s Stabat Mater, Giacomo Puccini’s Messa di Gloria, and W. A. Mozart’s Requiem.

In the summer of 2025, he performed the role of Rinaldo in Joseph Haydn’s Armida in a joint production of the Hungarian State Opera and San Diego’s OperaNeo, premiered at the Eiffel Art Studios’ Bánffy Hall and later presented at the University of San Diego (USSD).
