Gergely Halász began his musical studies at the Béla Bartók Conservatory in Budapest, studying under Mónika González and Krisztina Sólyom-Nagyné Erdélyi. In 2019, he was accepted to study classical singing at the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music, where he continued his studies under Katalin Halmai and Imola Pogány, furthering his professional development.

He made his debut at the Music Academy's Contemporary Opera Showcase in January 2020, followed by numerous performances. In 2021, he debuted at the Hungarian State Opera House's 'Treasure Seekers' series, appearing as Raimbaud in Rossini's comic opera The Count of Ory and as Biscroma in Donizetti's Viva la Mamma!

In 2022, He obtained his Bachelor of Music degree from the Academy of Music.

In 2023, he successfully enrolled on the Master of Opera programme at the Liszt Academy, studying in the class of András Almási-Tóth. He reached an important milestone in his career in December when he participated in the premiere of Péter Eötvös's opera Valuska at the Hungarian State Opera House.

In 2024, he debuted on the main stage of the Hungarian State Opera House, playing Bastien in Mozart's Bastien und Bastienne and Ben in Menotti's one-act comedy opera The Telephone.

From October 2025, he will continue his professional work at the Hungarian State Opera House as a fellow of the Éva Marton International Opera Studio. In February 2026, he will also make his debut at the Opera House and Eiffel Theatre in two new roles: Enrico in Donizetti's comic opera The Bell Ringer, and Chichibio in Mozart's rarely performed The Goose of Cairo.

His goal is to participate in as many international singing competitions and auditions as possible in the coming years, and to establish himself as an active player in national and international opera scenes.
